Code of Conduct for Volunteers




All volunteers of the Gratitude Hub should familiarise themselves with and abide by this Code of Conduct. Po Sum Company Limited (the “Company”, “we”, “us”) reserves the right to amend this Code of Conduct without notice to volunteers.



Volunteers are expected to: 



  • perform their assignments to the best of their abilities in a timely, diligent and competent manner;


  • dress appropriately; 


  • maintain appropriate communications with fellow volunteers, supervisors and staff of the Company in order to ensure the smooth running of the Gratitude Hub or other activities of the Company; 


  • keep the Company up to date with the progress of the volunteer’s assignment and notify the contact person of the Company as soon as possible if the volunteer is unable to attend to any assignment allocated to him/her; 


  • avoid using language or otherwise behaving in a way which is inappropriate, offensive or abusive, or which may otherwise bring the Gratitude Hub and/or the Company into disrepute; 


  • ensure that a sense of accountability exists between volunteers so that poor practice or potentially abusive behaviour does not go unchallenged; 


  • report and refuse to participate in any behaviour which is illegal, unsafe or abusive; 


  • respect all users of the Gratitude Hub and participants of other activities of the Company regardless of their economic status, abilities, race and customs, cultural and religious beliefs, and avoid acting in ways intended to shame, humiliate, belittle or degrade others, or otherwise perpetrate any form of emotional abuse; 


  • discriminate against, show unfair differential treatment or favour to a particular user or participant to the exclusion of others; 


  • be aware of situations which may present risks and manage these by planning and organising their assignments so as to minimise risks; 


  • ensure their safety and the safety of other volunteers, participants or users of the Gratitude Hub or other activities of the Company, and avoid engaging in activities or actions that will bring any harm (physical, emotional or otherwise) to themselves or any other person or property;


  • ensure that a culture of openness exists to enable any issues or concerns to be raised and discussed; and 


  • comply with any other policies and procedures applicable to the volunteering assignments as may be communicated by the Company from time to time.
